So we heard that EA was laying off 6% percent of it’s workforce. I guess it’s timely that we have 2 game companies that are actively hiring. Once again. JobsTAXI saves the day! Here’s our top 3 picks for Cool(Jobs) Reporter today.

Behavior Programmer – Rockstar San Diego

Rockstar, the people behind games like Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club are looking for a behavior programmer. I have no idea what a behavior programmer does, but that’s a great title to have on a name card, and for that reason alone, it’s on our list today.

Visual Designer – Songbird

Songbird, the Firefox of iTunes is hiring. Songbird is built by Pioneers of the Inevitable, a group of designers and developers who believe in the promise of an open customizable media player. In the past, some members of the team have worked on Winamp, Yahoo! Music Jukebox, Netscape Navigator, and Mozilla Firefox. As a Visual Designer, you’ll be basically in charge of the look and feel of Songbird!

Game Designer – Digital Chocolate

Digital Chocolate, the guys behind popular mobile games like Brain Juice, Rollercoaster Rush and Mafia Wars are looking for a Game Designer. The cool part of this job is definitely it’s location, Barcelona, Spain. It’s definitely a great place to be, even if there’s no relocation assistance!

I was on Facebook today and saw that a friend of mine, an Apple fanatic, has posted a link to an interview snippet from the legendary Steve Jobs on her updates.

So here’s a little on what Jobs (pun unintended) commented on Apple’s strategy to employment in times of the economic gloom.

“What I told our company was that we were just going to invest our way through the downturn, that we weren’t going to lay off people, that we’d taken a tremendous amount of effort to get them into Apple in the first place — the last thing we were going to do is lay them off.” (For more, read here.)
